Name that lake.

It's been a while since I posted and I really don't have any exciting news to tell or new pictures to show so I've decided to post this old photo of one of the lakes that I take people to all the time and see if any of you know what lake it is.

It's quite a high lake and doesn't usually melt until the first part of June. It is a very nice deep blue color when it first melts but it soon fills up with rock flour from its source glacier and turns from this color to more of a turquoise then even a lighter blue color in the middle of summer.

Go ahead a have a guess if you dare. By the way I have changed the name of the file to mystery lake so you won't find the name just by saving the picture.
Good luck!

I would have to guess.....but I won't as I don't want to wreck it for anyone else. I think I'm pretty sure what lake it is though, so here is my clue.

Eytopay Akelay?

My guess is Vermilion Lake after browsing some of the lakes at Banff online. Although it could also be Johnson or Jack lake. Your shot was so beautiful and there wasn't anything on line to even compare. Good to see some of your pictures and keep in touch. I would have loved to have been at the tasting party at Lake Louise too. That really excites me to see food presented with so much flare. Love Mom

We don't have a clue, but we think we will say Louise 'cause it's the only one we know!!!

Wow, three guesses already, I'm impressed. Sorry Marlan and Jess, Lake Louise would have been a good guess as it is by far the most famous and most visited lake in Banff but this is not it. (there is a picture of Lake Louise next post down though).
Mom, you named the lakes closest to the town of Banff but this lake is about 100km north near Hwy 93. (hint)
I never learned pig latin but I'm pretty sure Kendall has the right answer.

OK I won't keep you in suspense any longer. As Kendall and Leisel guessed it is Peyto lake. Thanks for playing along everyone.

I had no clue. Guess I'm not that great with my lakes. I probably wouldn't even recognize Waterton lake if there was a picture? You sure get to go to lots of way cool places Lorin. Maybe you should take us for a tour? (We probably couldn't afford you though!)

So Jewel was the one who knew. You must have been there once or twice then. Good job.
By the way, I think it's about time for a new post on your blog don't you think? I mean come on, I've got people guessing the name of an obscure lake in the middle of nowhere. I'm sure you've got something much less lame than that to share with us right!
